	Macomb County Habitat for Humanity

is a department of Habitat for Humanity International that promotes the involvement of women in Habitat home construction. The first women-only "build" (Charlotte, North Carolina; 1991) garnered so much support and enthusiasm that, in short order, the idea caught on and many other "women builds" followed. In 1998, Habitat for Humanity International officially created the Women Build Department.

Macomb County's initiative is steadily growing and gaining steam. Behind-the-scenes work is being accomplished daily as we move in the direction of undertaking annual Women Build projects. Helping to eliminate substandard housing in Macomb neighborhoods is our #1 goal.

Your support is crucial as we prepare for Women Build 2008. Our goal of raising $100,000 (the approximate cost of building a Habitat house this year) is a monumental one, but with a little help from a lot of people we know we can do it.
